July 2022 Meeting – 7/12/22

Recap Of Our Meeting:

July was a "shoe"-in for gorgeous designs and horticulture specimens. Our monthly theme was "Fun" and had to contain a shoe— check out our fabulous standard and petite designs below! We enjoyed learning more about ethical and plastic-free ways to create flower designs; who knew chicken wire was so versatile? Thanks to our hostesses Sandra and Mary Beth for their hard work in creating the perfect summer scenery for our meeting plus serving us delicious desserts.

This Months Speaker:

Susan King gave a beautiful presentation about the mechanics of creating structures to build our designs on.

Below are some of the videos she shared with us.

YOU CAN BUY various kinds of chicken wire
 at this link on Amazon.

YOU CAN BUY Equisetum that you can plant in a container or raised bed
(to keep it from spreading too much and taking over!) at this link on Amazon.

And you can get that handy WASH BOTTLE here.   🙂

Preparing For Our Meeting:

The Luray Garden Club plans to meet on July 12th, 2022 at the American Legion Hall in Luray, VA.

ALL HORTICULTURE AND DESIGNS MUST BE IN PLACE AND LABELED BY 12:30 pm!   Please plan to arrive by noon if you have items to be judged so you have time to place them. Judging can not begin if you're still labeling!

July Designs:

Our design for the month of July is entitled "Fun" and must contain a shoe.

The miniature for this month is 10 inches.  Remember, that means everything must fit within a 10" space.

July Hosts:

Sandra and Mary Beth will be hosting our meeting this month.

After our meeting, we will update this page to share a recap and photos.
